Zoë is thrilled to join MPG as a clinical intern (AAMFT Student Membership #242316) who has completed all academic coursework for her master’s in couples and family therapy at Alliant International University, The California School of Professional Psychology. Zoë holds an MPL (master’s in planning) with a concentration in community planning and social justice from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s in geography and urban studies from Temple University.
Zoë started her career in entertainment, working as a music artist and then an actor for the better part of two decades. Following that chapter of life, she moved into advocacy and outreach roles for various nonprofit organizations in different parts of the country. In that role, she worked directly with community members on various topics, from environmental justice concerns to individual job search/interview preparation.
Zoë is passionate about learning from clients, peers and supervisors at MPG. She brings an interdisciplinary lens to her work, drawing on her experience working with children and young adults in various capacities. At MPG she integrates skills learned from teaching acting classes, to fulfilling responsibilities as a court appointed special advocate for individuals navigating life within the foster care system.
The focus of Zoë’s work has always been on helping others navigate through whatever is before them, encouraging openness, and finding value and resources within vulnerability. She recognizes the uniqueness and validity of clients’ experience and innate strengths.
Zoë’s work background is diverse and culminates in an interest in people, their stories, and the possibilities if all were treated with absolute care, respect, and opportunity. Outside of MPG, Zoë resides with her spouse, two young children, and two cats who are finally starting to accept the children as permanent additions to their family!
