What is a Teen Social Hour Group?

Our Social Groups target teens’ social skills during outings in the community. This group is appropriate for teens who could benefit from support in planning and executing social outings and in appropriately engaging with peers during outings.
The group facilitator will help support teens in initiating and maintaining unstructured conversations and engaging in problem solving or any other pertinent social skills for presented situations.

Our Social Hour Group is tailored for teens aged 15-18. It is specifically designed for teens who may have a diagnosis of:

What are the components of a Teen Social Hour Group?
During the sessions, participants will practice interactive social skills and learn strategies for effective communication and peer engagement, including:
- Clinicians scheduling outings for the group and facilitating appropriate behavior and peer interactions throughout.
- As the group progresses, the clinician can support teens in planning and scheduling outings.
- Each teen would get an opportunity to plan/book one or more outings with clinician support, from texting in a group chat, to making executive decisions, and booking reservations (if applicable).

For skill building and support related to the benefits of this group, MPG can also create a tailored treatment plan based on individual service(s) or other types of support if there is not a group actively running at the time.
Group Leader(s)
- Groups are led by skilled clinicians with expertise in adolescent social development.
