
Steph Gutkin, Ph.D. (she/her), is a child, adolescent, and adult psychologist who is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion and evidence-based care. She earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Fordham University’s NASP- and APA-accredited program, a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Preschool Psychology from Fordham University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fairfield University.
Dr. Gutkin has over a decade of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and parents through a wide range of needs, including developmental disabilities, learning differences, trauma, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, and other mental health concerns. She has worked in early childhood programs, elementary and middle schools, and specialized testing centers, where she provided academic support to teachers and families, implemented classroom interventions, facilitated social skills groups, and conducted comprehensive psychological, educational, and neuropsychological assessments. She also partners closely with caregivers to help them better understand and support their children’s emotions and behaviors.
Known for her warm, collaborative style, Dr. Gutkin creates a safe and supportive space tailored to each client’s unique strengths, background, and goals. She integrates evidence-based therapies, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Parent Management Training (PMT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), while keeping cultural and individual differences at the center of care.
