
Biography
Marcia Questel is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a master’s degree in special education (concentration – autism) and a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Long Island University. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Purchase College in developmental psychology with a focus on developmental disorders, where her passion for researching executive functioning (EF) and Theory of Mind (ToM) began.
Marcia works in private practice, providing consultation to individuals, families, and faculty. She has taught a wide variety of programs, including self-care, social communication, and academic/job skills. Her favorite programs ensure that all individuals learn to self-advocate and have access to engaging leisure activities, including outdoor activities and play skills. Marcia strongly believes in access to accurate information about safe and effective treatment. She is the Content Editor for the publication Science in Autism Treatment and the Externship Co-Coordinator for the Association for Science in Autism Treatment.
She is also researching access and effectiveness of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Affect Regulation and Cognition lab at Yale University, Marcia is researching emotions and relationships among teenagers and their parents under Drs. Jutta Joormann and Reuma Gadassi-Polack. Marcia enjoys research that explores the relationship between EF and emotion regulation.
