
David Schector is a doctoral student pursuing his Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. He is currently completing his fourth-year clinical externship at Manhattan Psychology Group.
David has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across a range of settings. He has treated clients presenting with diverse psychological and behavioral concerns, including ADHD, executive functioning challenges, disruptive behaviors, aggression, compulsions, depression, anxiety, and trauma. His clinical work incorporates evidence-based interventions such as the Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders and the Zones of Regulation. He also utilizes psychodynamic play therapy to address anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms in younger children.
David’s therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing on relational, attachment-based, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral frameworks. He has provided both individual and group therapy in schools, university training clinics, and foster care settings. In addition, David has conducted numerous psychoeducational evaluations with children and adolescents and is proficient in the administration and interpretation of a variety of assessment tools.
