Julia Chait holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Certificate of Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in School Psychology at Fordham University, specializing in therapeutic interventions. Through her doctoral training, she has developed a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM).
With extensive experience in consultation and counseling, Julia has worked closely with adults, children and adolescents presenting with diverse needs, including autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbances, disruptive behavior disorders, anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities. During her internship in a school, she has worked alongside the school psychologist providing interventions that promote emotional regulation, adaptive coping skills, and positive behavioral change. Her role as a lead evaluator at Fordham’s Hagin Center has further strengthened her expertise in neuropsychological assessment, report writing, and interpreting cognitive and socio-emotional functioning in children and adolescents.
Julia is particularly passionate about working with individuals facing mental health and behavioral challenges. While her primary focus is on psychotherapy, she remains dedicated to refining her skills in neuropsychological evaluations. She is eager to deepen her clinical judgment, enhance her therapeutic skills, and develop her theoretical orientation to provide comprehensive, individualized care for the populations she serves.
