
Dr. Jacqueline Hwang is a licensed psychologist in New York and a nationally certified school psychologist. She earned her BS in Applied Psychology from New York University and her PhD in School Psychology from Fordham University, where she also completed her MSE and Advanced Certificate. Additionally, she holds a graduate certificate in behavior analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing board certification as a behavior analyst (BCBA).
Dr. Hwang received extensive pre-doctoral training in academic and clinical settings. She completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) within the Pediatric Developmental Disabilities and Neurobehavioral Outpatient Clinics. She went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the Child Mind Institute in the ADHD and Behavior Disorders Center.
Dr. Hwang has experience working with toddlers, children, adolescents, and their families across home, school, community, and clinical environments. Her work centers on addressing behavioral challenges and skill deficits that impact communication, social functioning, self-care, and academics. She specializes in evidence-based interventions to promote skill development and reduce maladaptive behaviors. Her therapeutic approaches include ABA, behavioral parent training (PMT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Dr. Hwang is passionate about evaluating and treating individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral concerns, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. She takes a data-driven, goal-oriented, and collaborative approach to treatment, tailoring interventions to each client’s needs while promoting generalization across caregivers and settings.
