Dr. Jacqueline Hwang is a licensed psychologist in New York (#026586) and a nationally certified school psychologist. She earned her B.S. in Applied Psychology from New York University and her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Fordham University, where she also completed her M.S.E. and Advanced Certificate. She holds a graduate certificate in behavior analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology and is currently a BCBA candidate.
Dr. Hwang received extensive pre-doctoral training in both academic and clinical settings, including an APA-accredited internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she focused on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) within pediatric developmental disabilities and neurobehavioral outpatient clinics. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Child Mind Institute in the ADHD and Behavior Disorders Center.
Dr. Hwang specializes in working with toddlers, children, and adolescents with developmental and behavioral challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. She also works with families navigating difficulties related to communication, social functioning, self-care, and academic performance.
Her work is grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other evidence-based approaches, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), behavioral parent training (PMT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She focuses on building practical, measurable skills while reducing maladaptive behaviors, with an emphasis on generalizing progress across home, school, and community settings.
She takes a data-driven, goal-oriented, and collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with caregivers, educators, and other providers to ensure consistency across environments and support meaningful, lasting progress.
