Our psychologists have a great deal of experience in working with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community members and a strong understanding of the dynamics that can be challenging for those identifying as LGBT.
Everyone can struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and trouble with family and relationships; but identifying as LGBT can add another layer of context that can be relevant in therapy and treatment.
Concerns LGBT clients may be struggling with:
- Issues of discrimination, rejection, and fear
- Parenting issues
- Aging well
- Identity issues (including multiple-minority identities)
- Relationship concerns
- “Coming out” when, how, and to whom
- Self-esteem and body image
