Nicholas Vitaro is currently a student at Adelphi University, where he is pursuing his doctorate in school psychology. He joins Manhattan Psychology Group (MPG) with a foundation of training and experience in psychological assessments. His expertise spans a wide range of evaluations, including cognitive, achievement, and mental health assessments. Over the course of his training, Nicholas has developed skills in interpreting psychological data and has frequently led comprehensive feedback sessions with families, during which he skillfully communicates assessment results, clinical findings, and tailored recommendations to support the unique needs of each client.
In addition to his assessment capabilities, Nicholas has experience in providing therapeutic interventions to children and families. His background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has equipped him with the tools to address a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges, helping his clients develop effective coping strategies and achieve meaningful improvements in their daily lives.
Nicholas is deeply interested in expanding his therapeutic repertoire. He has a particular interest in interpersonal therapy, which focuses on improving relationships and communication patterns, and behavioral activation, a strategy aimed at increasing engagement in positive and rewarding activities to combat depression and other mood disorders. At MPG, Nicholas is eager to broaden his knowledge and skills in these areas, while also seeking additional training in neuropsychological evaluations, particularly for individuals with psychiatric and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Nicholas views his externship at MPG as a valuable opportunity to enhance his expertise, contribute to the well-being of his clients, and continue on his path toward a successful and fulfilling career in psychology.
